In 1994 founded Dafecor Oy is a pioneer of utilising textile waste industrially in Finland. The first decade of the 21st century brings ever tightening environmental standards and therefore businesses like Dafecor Oy will have a more important role in industry. Dafecor, located in Turenki, was awarded for a Hдme-regional environmental prize for its constant work towards better environment in 2000. Company's product range consists of various non-woven products made from recycled textile and designed for various industrial, building & construction, professional gardening and household needs.

Dafecor Oy - Factory

The main raw material of Dafecor's products is waste generated from the processes of textile industry Most of the product does not contain any other materials than textile waste. Dafecor’s operations reduce substantially the annual amount of dumped textile waste. Common assumption is that product which is made from recycled materials, is somehow worse than product made from novelty materials. The field where Dafecor's products belong, that assumption has been proved to be incompetent. For example the test results of Pohjois-Pohjanmaan ympдristцkeskus (North-Ostrobothnia regional environment centre) showed that utilising of recycled textile fibres does not affect to the product performance and Dafecor's liquid absorbents are very efficient in use.

Company’s main partners in research and product development are national institutions, including VTT (Technical Research Centre of Finland), SYKE (The Finnish Environment Institute), FINATEX (The Federation of Finnish Textiles and Clothing Industries) Ekokem Oy (a national company specialising in the treatment of hazardous wastes), TUT (Tampere university of Technology) and UIAH (University of Art and Design Helsinki).

Company's main product range consists of OilStop product family: OilStop Lite, OilStop Medium and OilStop Super. These products are different liquid absorbing mats, which are manufactured from recycled textile fibres, and each of them is developed for special use. User group of Dafecor’s absorption products consists of remarkable amount of Finnish industrial companies: oil refineries as well as garages, engineering and repair workshops turn to Dafecor’s products in question of fixing hazardous liquid spills, and preventing potential damages and leaks.
